Seaspan Marine offers the most modern, powerful tug fleet in Western Canada,providing fully manned tugs 24-hours a day 365-days a year. Seaspan provides ship assist & docking, tanker escort and emergency towing services for Vancouver Harbour and other locations in British Columbian waters.

Ship Bunkering

Seaspan Marine Petrobulk supplies all grades of bunker fuels to vessels entering the ports of Vancouver, New Westminster, Victoria and more. Marine Petrobulk operates a fleet of three double-hulled bunker barges that service cruise ships, bulk carriers, and tankers.

Commerical Ferry Services

Seaspan Ferries serves the Vancouver Island supply chain with the most reliable customer-focused commercial ferry service. Seaspan Ferries provides a daily, scheduled drop trailer ferry service for general freight products, consumer goods, regulated commodities and automobiles through Swartz Bay and Duke Point terminals.

We provide transportation of raw materials & finished goods for the forestry industry, have specialized barges for transportation of bulk chemicals and oil products, and have an extensive fleet of flat-deck and bulk-material barges suitable for transportation of construction materials and project cargo.

Ian’s industry expertise and market understanding, coupled with a highly strategic approach and a focus on operational excellence builds on and expands Seaspan’s logistics service offering, meeting the increasingly complex needs of our marine customer base.

Derek Ollmann

Derek Ollmann, President, Seaspan Marine Transportation, effective January 1, 2023, began his transportation career in 1999 and most recently served as President of Montana Rail Link. Prior to MRL, Derek served as President of Southern Railway where he first joined The Washington Companies. Over his 23 years in the transportation industry Derek has held progressively senior roles overseeing all aspects of marketing & sales, operations, maintenance and engineering. Under Derek’s leadership, MRL received the Presidential Safety Award from the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association in recognition of MRL’s outstanding safety performance for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021.
