Mark Lamarre was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Washington Companies in September 2022. Prior to this role, Mr. Lamarre served as CEO of Seaspan Shipyards where he was instrumental in building on the company’s dominant position in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry. Mr. Lamarre has overseen the construction of some of the world’s most complex marine vessels over more than three decades in the industry. He is a proven leader with an impeccable track record of planning, designing, restructuring, and constructing complex marine engineering projects.

Before joining Seaspan, Mr. Lamarre served as CEO of the Australian Shipbuilding Company (ASC), where he led the division of the company engaged in the engineering, construction, activation and post-delivery support of Naval surface combatants to the Australian Navy. Before that, he spent 24 years at Bath Iron Works, where he was involved in every aspect of the planning, construction, engineering and financial management of marine construction.

Mr. Lamarre received his MBA from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and his bachelor’s degree in Citizenship and Public Affairs from Syracuse University.
