Heavy equipment and construction industry veteran Jeff Schwarz is the president of Modern Machinery. Over his 26-year career, Mr. Schwarz has provided high-quality and reliable heavy construction equipment to an array of public and private sector clients. He prides himself in providing excellent customer service while helping his clients meet their complex machinery needs.

Prior to joining Modern Machinery in November 2020, Mr. Schwarz was president of Astec Industries, a NASDAQ traded manufacturer of machinery for asphalt road building and aggregate processing. Mr. Schwarz also helped Johnson Crushers International (JCI) launch a new business venture to sell and support crushing and screening products in Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii. He knows the construction material business from the ground up, having started his career in 1995 in the aggregate materials division of Rinker Materials and having worked at Balzer Pacific Equipment and Kerr Contractors.

An Oregon native, Mr. Schwarz earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Portland State University. He currently serves on the finance committee of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and is the past president of the Asphalt Paving Association of Oregon.
