Seaspan Marine Chief Executive Officer
Frank Butzelaar
Frank Butzelaar is a seasoned logistics and transportation executive who serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Seaspan Marine. A 28-year veteran of the Washington Companies, Mr. Butzelaar overseas a vast marine portfolio that operates more than 30 tugs and 100 barges, with more than 2,200 employees.
Joining Seaspan in 2017 after a nine-year tenure as CEO of Southern Railway of British Columbia (SRY), Mr. Butzelaar started his career at SRY in 1993 as a project analyst. He was later promoted to executive vice president where he was responsible for new business development.
Mr. Butzelaar has a degree in economics from Simon Fraser University. In addition to his role at Seaspan, he is a board member of the Greater Vancouver Gateway Council, the Royal Columbia Hospital Foundation and formerly served as the director of the Railway Association of Canada board.
